We knew it was coming, it was just a matter of when. Turns out the rumors and image leaks were correct. Along with the news is a price drop which brings the cost of the PS3 to $299 for the 80GB or $399 for the 160GB. If you wait until the Slim is released into stores, it’ll be $299 for the 120GB which is the same price as the 60GB 360. Can’t forget that this also doubles as a Blu-Ray player and has built in Wi-Fi (assuming that it wasn’t taken out), so the 360 finally has some solid competition. Only thing that stands in Sony’s way is the online service which while the PlayStation Network is free, Microsoft’s Live trumps in many ways.
If it weren’t for the fact that it still didn’t have backwards compatibility (I will finish Persona 3 dammit!), I’d sell my 60GB and get my self the Slim.
