Decided to keep recapping the show and give my thoughts and maybe I can make some sense in the damn show.

So I can actually go into a little more depth this time around since there was only one episode. Unfortunately, there’s not much depth to be had this time around. Well, that’s a bit harsh. There was plenty of character development and I felt it to be a NECESSARY episode, but it wasn’t that great. Still, it’s hard for me to hate any episode of Lost.

Being a Kate-centric episode, there’s the reason alone as to why so many people didn’t like this episode. Although to be fair, this is just as much a Kate episode as it is a Claire episode I think. Leaving off from last episode’s flash sideways, Kate has just hijacked a taxi with the puppetmaster (who runs off like a pansy) and Claire. Turns out, nothing has dramatically changed in their lives. Claire is still pregnant and Kate is still wanted for murder (who that may be is still undetermined). They have a bonding moment and Claire helps Kate evade the police before they part ways. Oh, and Ethan’s alive! He just won’t stay dead.

While not mind blowing, there are a few moments that are important to note. Claire is fated to have Aaron. Is the kid special in someway? Who knows if we’ll ever find out, but as reiterated in the show many times, Claire is the one that needs to be with Aaron. No one else. And in keeping with fate, there’s also Ethan. It appears that Amy and Horace have met off the island. Amy must’ve not been married in this timeline. But doubtful that it has any bearing to the greater mysteries of the show.

Over in 2007, we’re back with Sayid waking up from the dead. Thankfully the theories were NOT true in that he didn’t turn into Jacob. Unfortunately he’s not the Sayid we know, or so we’re told. Wise master Dogen “diagonises” (tortures) the newly risen Sayid to see if he’s infected. With what? Well there’s a new mystery, but it really might be related to an old mystery. But more on that in a second. So Dogen decides to get Jack to poison Sayid but Jack decides to refuse and Jack soon learns that Claire is also sick with whatever illness is infecting Sayid.

So what is this this sickness? Well, skipping a few scenes out of fear that I’m rehashing too much of last night’s episode, Claire shows up at the end! And guess who she looks like? A certain woman who also lost her baby on the island. Rousseau! The Others even hinted to the fact that a classic Rousseau trap was freshly made. With the way it ended, Claire seemed to acknowledge Jin, so I’m hoping she’s not lost her memory. But if she’s acting like the new Danielle, then was Danielle sick as well? She SEEMED fine, minus the fact that she’s been isolated for years on the island.

Oh, and Sawyer is still grieving, ditched his friends, revealed he was going to propose, and is sulking in Dharmaville until next week’s episode. Kate went after him, revealed she wants to find Claire, and left. Jin revealed he wants to find Sun and found Claire instead. Also, Mac died.

That was Lost. Hoping next week’s episode will be a little better in terms of revealing mythology and the mysteries of the characters we give a shit about (sorry Kate).
